Fire & Security Supplier Marketing
You built something installers should be choosing... they just don't know why yet
Some suppliers have the opposite of a product problem. Hardly any installers know they exist. Others are visible enough and still get passed over for the brand name the installer already trusts.
You know why yours is different. You know what went into it, which problems you fixed and exactly what your customers were fed up with before they found you. Getting installers to see what you can see is the hard bit.
Since 2020, the Lollies have helped Fire & Security suppliers turn all that product knowledge into a reason installers can understand, remember and choose.
Tell us what makes your product different
You built it that way because somebody complained
“That takes ages to set up.”
“We’re back on site every other month.”
“The customer doesn’t understand the report.”
“Our engineers hate using it.”
You’ve been hearing that sort of thing from installers about your competitors for years. Most suppliers nod sympathetically and carry on regardless. But YOU went away and changed your product so there was no moaning.
Which is why you turn up here already knowing exactly why what you’ve built is better. What you haven’t got is a way of making anybody else understand it.
And that’s because you’ve been living with those differences so long they’ve stopped looking like advantages. To you, they’re just how the product works. Somebody has to walk in from outside and tell you that the thing you changed six years ago, because installers kept grumbling about it, is the reason people should be choosing you.
That’s the job the Lollies do. We ask a lot of questions, we listen hard for the details you’ve stopped noticing and we work out which of them your competitors would find genuinely difficult to copy.
Then we make sure installers hear about those, rather than a feature list.
You shouldn't have to teach your marketing company the Fire & Security industry
Three months explaining your world to an agency is three months you’re paying for and never getting back.
Why installers buy differently from end users. Why one small product detail turns into a very big deal at eight on a wet Tuesday morning. Why the voice on the other end of the phone matters more than the spec sheet. Why one competitor is the comparison everybody makes and another one really isn’t.
We’re already in this world. Our Lollipop: Licking Marketing newsletter goes out to 940+ subscribers via LinkedIn every week. We have been running #LollipopTop10: our round-up of the best posts from installers and suppliers in the Fire & Security industry every week for four years now. We’ve contributed to PSI Magazine’s “Meet the NSI Installer” series and the NSI have published our guest article on why third-party certification matters in fire. We’re also associate members of the BSIA and the FIA.
Knowing the market is also how we help you work out which position is actually available to you. Sometimes that means becoming the credible alternative to an established name, with a reason to switch that’s sturdy enough to survive a conversation with the incumbent’s rep. Sometimes it means showing installers your product answers the question differently, which is slower, harder and worth a great deal more when it lands. Those need very different marketing, so we’d rather sort that out before anybody starts talking about exhibition stands.
Either way, when you tell us who you’re up against and what you changed because installers kept complaining, we’re not starting from scratch. We can get to the useful part of the conversation on the first call rather than the fifth..
Introducing Lollipop's Fire & Security Visibility Engine™
Why Our Process Starts With Clarity
Marketing is built for the average. Average company. Average buyer. Average risk.
But specialist Fire & Security businesses don't get judged fairly when everything that makes them different is squeezed into the same price comparison.
If you're third-party certified and still being judged mainly on price, the problem isn't your competence. It's that the buyer can't see enough of it to choose you for it.
You've invested in third-party certification, you have years of specialism and a track record that stands up. Then the buyer gets three proposals, three websites or three names on a tender list - and all that difference disappears.
Same spreadsheet. Same price column. Same race to the bottom.
This isn't a hunch. In the NSI and BAFE Fire Safety Buyers Report 2026, 94% of buyers said proof of competence matters more to them than cost. They want to choose you. They just need to be able to see why they should.
That's the problem we exist to fix. We start with clarity instead.
- Find The Gaps. An audit of where you're visible, where you're not, and what a buyer looking for you today would actually find.
- Who What Why. The framework that defines your ideal customer, your core offer and the reasons the right buyer should understand, believe and choose you.
- Lollipop Growth Plan. Shaped by our Black Belt Sales Framework and prioritised so you know what to do first.
Then we build. The right audience, specialist content and proof that shows buyers what you can actually do, and consistent visibility so you become the name they already know when the contract comes up.
That's how we turn reputation into revenue.

I’m a third-party certified Fire & Security Installer
I want commercial clients to see our competence, so we win more installations and maintenance contractsI want to sell my products to Installers
I’ve got a no-brainer product that Installers and their clients will love – but hardly anyone knows I exist! I need visibility!Getting in front of the right installers is only half of it
Plenty of suppliers are visible. Fewer are understood. The installers who see your name at a show, on LinkedIn or in a trade title are still deciding whether what you offer is relevant to them.
So we do two things. We work out what would actually make an installer care, and then we make sure that message appears where they’re already paying attention.
Some of that comes through our own reach in the sector. Most of it is about building yours. The right connections, stronger visibility and a message that still works when Lollipop isn’t in the middle of it.
Carl Meason didn’t send Phil Clarke to us because of a campaign. He’d watched what we do and thought it would work for a mate. That’s the kind of reach you can’t buy in a media pack.
Supplier Spotlight: CCTV Hire & Sales
We met Phil Clarke in February 2023 at Security TWENTY in Birmingham. Carl Meason at Fenix Monitoring made the introduction, having watched our hi-viz LinkedIn work and decided the two of us ought to meet.
Phil didn’t need telling how temporary CCTV ought to work. More than 40 years in the industry had shown him every way a tower can let somebody down, and he’d built the REG towers around the lot of it. What he hadn’t got was recognition. Growth was arriving through word of mouth and repeat orders, which is a lovely problem right up until you want to grow faster than your existing customers can grow you.
We told him that if he wanted installers, he needed to be at The Security Event. He booked the stand. We spent six weeks building visibility beforehand and gave the fleet a name: the REG Army.
“I saw you on LinkedIn.”
People were saying it as they walked onto the stand, before Phil had opened his mouth.
Over the next two years the REG Army went from 56 towers to 112. More than 50 extra towers, each earning around £250 a week when they’re out on hire, against £35,000 of total marketing spend. REG100 went out in December 2024 wearing a golden wrap and the title of Centurion because milestones deserve a bit of a fuss.
In January 2025, we rebuilt his website so it sells towers as well as hiring them out. Buying outright suits some customers better, and every tower sold brings maintenance work with it.
The towers didn’t need to get better. More installers just needed to understand why they already were.
That hasn’t stopped Phil improving them. Every time he hears installers talking about a new problem in the industry, he’s working out how the REG Army should answer it.
He’s also in the room where the rules get written. BS 8418 was drafted with fixed systems in mind, which leaves mobile CCTV with a problem: most portable systems can’t get a URN, so police response is inconsistent. The BSIA is developing an Industry Agreement to close that gap, with input from NSI, SSAIB, RISC Authority and suppliers including CCTV Hire & Sales.
Most suppliers wait to be told what the rules are. Phil is helping write them.

Security Marketing Driving 30-40% Growth In One Year
What a year! It’s been a pleasure working with the Lollies. We’ve seen a 50% increase in our REG army. Next year will see a 30-40% growth from last year. The Lollies have played a massive part in the 2023 success. We are seeing enquiries and orders coming in as a direct result of your hard work. Would recommend you guys to anyone looking for Hi-Viz Security Marketing.
Supplier Spotlight: Fenix Monitoring
Carl Meason came into monitoring from installation, and that turned out to matter enormously. He knew the feeling of handing a customer you’ve looked after for years over to an ARC and hoping somebody else treats the relationship as carefully as you did. He built Fenix around it. None of which was visible from the outside.
Fenix hold NSI Gold certification for their alarm receiving centre, which is about as serious as credentials get in monitoring. It’s also one their competitors can point at. The more interesting difference was the man running the place and why he’d built it the way he had.
Twelve months with his previous agency had produced a website, no rankings and no enquiries. Not even spam.
“Even the spambots couldn’t find my website.”
The reasons weren’t hard to spot once we looked. Stock photography made a state-of-the-art ARC look like a couple of students working out of a spare bedroom. The blog posts were so vague they rather gave away that whoever wrote them had never established what an ARC actually does. So we started with the message and built the website around that, rather than the other way round.
The first sign anything had shifted was a spam enquiry offering to help Carl reclaim his PPI. Not the win we’d promised him, but it meant Google had finally found the place. The real ones came next. Then a job for 100 CCTV cameras, straight off the website.
“It is never in the bag until it is in the bag, but, this is in the bag. Large car forecourt organisation with 135 sites across the UK, CCTV, intruder and keyholding services. That is ROI my friends.”
Carl knows his business inside out. What he got from us was somebody pointing at the parts of it that deserved a great deal more attention than they were getting.
“…you told me things about our business I did not know and I keep learning. I genuinely believe you would get as much satisfaction from us doing well as we would.”
We’re working with Fenix again now, refreshing the message, the website and the social media for where the business has got to since.

Fire & Security Marketing Partnerships With ROI
“…you told me things about our business I did not know and I keep learning. I genuinely believe you would get as much satisfaction from us doing well as we would…”
“a new client was gushing over our website. Professional but full of character… 135 sites across the UK – that is ROI my friends, thank you…”
How We Turn Product Knowledge Into Installer Demand
We help Fire & Security suppliers make the reasons behind their product easier for installers to find, understand and believe.
That means working out what deserves to be known, getting it in front of the installers who matter and keeping it there long enough to change what they specify.
Our Fire & Security marketing is built for manufacturers, monitoring providers and specialist suppliers selling into the installer market.

Website Design
Make Your Website Prove Your Product
Give installers the evidence they need to believe the difference is real before they ever pick up the phone.
Different suppliers need different levels of support.
Whether you want us to do the marketing for you, work alongside your team or give you the tools to do more yourself, the goal stays the same: make the reason your product is better impossible for installers to miss.
This works best when there's something real to uncover
Maybe you’ve got one product you want to make famous. Maybe you manufacture a range and there’s one line, one category or one corner of the business with far more in it than the rest. Maybe your service looks identical to everybody else’s until somebody actually sees how differently you deliver it.
What matters is that there’s something underneath. You’ve got customers. You listen to them. You can explain why you built it the way you did, and you’ve got evidence that the difference lands.
If the product is still hunting for a market, we’re too early. If you want a pile of enquiries by the end of the month, we’re the wrong shop. Our best work happens when “>something good already exists and the job is making its value obvious.

Tell us what makes your product different
Most suppliers find this harder than they expect. You’ve been living with the answer so long it’s stopped sounding remarkable.
So start anywhere. What do installers complain about? What did you change because you were listening? Who do they pick when they don’t pick you?
We’ll do the rest of the digging.
FAQs from Fire & Security Suppliers Like You
What makes Lollipop different from other marketing companies?
We’ve worked with more than 75 Fire & Security companies since 2010, so we know how installers buy, what they complain about and why they ignore most of what suppliers send them. You won’t spend your first three months explaining your market to us.
Do you work with our competitors?
If there’s a genuine conflict with an existing client, we’ll tell you before anything goes further.
What counts as a conflict is less obvious than it looks. Two suppliers can sit in the same category, sell to similar buyers and still occupy very different positions, because the offer and the reason to choose them are different. Working out where a company actually sits is exactly what our Who, What, Why process is for.
So sometimes companies in the same part of the market approach us and there’s no problem at all. Sometimes there is, and we say so. Either way you’ll know.
Can you track results?
Yes – if you’re willing to track them.
We can show you what traffic is coming in, where leads are being generated and what actions are being taken.
But we can’t track what your team won’t record.
If your sales process is manual or inconsistent, we’ll flag it – and help you fix it in Phase 1 of the Fire & Security Visibility Engine™.
How do you know what’s wrong with our current marketing?
We can often spot the obvious gaps quickly. Phase 1 of our Fire & Security Visibility Engine™ lets us look properly at what’s happening across your marketing and sales before deciding what needs fixing.
Maybe your website doesn’t build trust. Maybe you’re invisible in search. Maybe your leads drop off at follow-up.
And if we can’t help, we’ll tell you straight.
How will we know it’s working?
We’ll agree what success looks like, and track progress wherever possible.
But let’s be honest: a lot of installer sales activity never gets recorded consistently, especially before an opportunity becomes a formal quote or survey.
That’s why Phase 1 of the Fire & Security Visibility Engine™ starts with Find the Gaps – so we can spot issues, fix them and set you up for results you can actually see.
Do you help with exhibitions?
We don’t create stands although we can introduce you to someone who does. They have designed and built both of the Lollipop stands that we used to exhibit at The Security Event.
BUT we do help guide the work that needs to be done around an exhibition. The CCTV Hire & Sales stand at The Security Event worked because installers already knew who he was before they arrived. The exhibition started before the doors opened.
